What is the deadline to apply to Syracuse University? ›

Regular Decision

To have the best opportunity to be notified of an admission decision in late March, be sure to complete all admissions requirements (including auditions and portfolio reviews) by the required deadlines. The deadline for Regular Decision is Jan. 5.

The earlier you apply, the earlier you will be notified. It is in your best interest to apply earlier for the fall semester as transfer students are admitted on a rolling basis beginning in late February and some programs are limited in space.

The GPA requirements for getting into Syracuse are to have around a 3.69 high school GPA. You are required to have very good grades in high school. If your high school GPA meets these requirements, there is a good chance you will be accepted as Syracuse accepts 52% of students who apply.

Syracuse University has an acceptance rate of 52%. Half the applicants admitted to Syracuse University who submitted test scores have an SAT score between 1260 and 1430 or an ACT score of 28 and 32. However, one quarter of admitted applicants achieved scores above these ranges and one quarter scored below these ranges.

The rise in the acceptance rate can be attributed to the amount of students that transferred out of the university over the past year, in part due to the school's COVID-19 restrictions and the strain of having online classes last year.

To be considered for admission to our programs, you should have at the time of application a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and be in good academic standing.

Syracuse University's middle 50% SAT scores for admitted students fall between 1280 and 1410. This means that 25% of students scored below 1180, while another 25% scored above 1380. If your SAT score falls within or above this range, you'd be considered a competitive applicant in terms of test scores.

Syracuse University's ED acceptance rate is around 60%. Applying ED generally does increase your chances of admission compared to applying Regular Decision, which is normally closer to 44%.
