Milwaukee Bucks 128, Indiana Pacers 119

Tonight

Sacramento Kings @ Chicago Bulls 8 pm

Bucks Beat Pacers
Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a season-high 50 points, two off his career best, and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead the Milwaukee Bucks past the skidding Indiana Pacers 128-119. The Bucks swept the four-game season series from the Pacers and have won eight straight against their Central Division foe. Antetokounmpo, who didn’t play in Milwaukee’s loss to Portland on Monday night because of a sore left ankle, showed no ill effects. He set a career high with his seventh 40-point game of the season and scored 50 for the first time since the memorable title-clinching game in the NBA Finals last season, which gave the Bucks their first championship in 50 years. Milwaukee bounced back after consecutive double-digit losses to hand Indiana its seventh consecutive defeat.

NCAA Basketball
Last night

Penn State Upsets Spartans
Seth Lundy hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:37 remaining and finished with 17 points as Penn State beat No. 19 Michigan State 62-58. John Harrar had 16 points and 16 rebounds, and Jalen Pickett added 10 points for the Nittany Lions, who beat a ranked team for the first time under first-year coach Micah Shrewsberry. Julius Marble II scored 14 points and Max Christie had 10 for the Spartans, who led by as many as 14 points with just over 13 minutes remaining.

NCAA Football
Irish Hire New Football Assistant
Former Miami coach Al Golden is joining Notre Dame after a stint in the NFL to become defensive coordinator under new Fighting Irish head coach Marcus Freeman. A person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press that Golden had reached an agreement with the school on a multiyear contract. Golden went 32-25 in four-plus seasons as Miami’s head coach from 2011-15. He was at Temple before that, where he helped turn around a languishing program in five seasons. He spent the last two seasons as linebackers coach for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Olympics

Hall, Goepper Are 1-2 In Slopestyle
The United States is off to a good start to Wednesday’s Olympic schedule at Beijing. Freestyler skier Alex Hall led a 1-2 American finish in the men’s Olympic slopestyle competition with a trick on his first run where he stopped his rotation mid-air and seemed to float in the other direction before softly landing. Hall’s opening run drew a score of 90.01, a score no one could match. His teammate Nick Goepper turned in a creative run on his second pass to earn silver. Jesper Tjader of Sweden took home bronze. The Americans have now captured six of nine Olympic medals since the event made its debut in 2014. Goepper has three of them.

Canada Beats US In Women’s Curling
Canada beat the United States 7-6 in women’s curling to move ahead of the Americans in the race for the four-team playoff. Canada retained the last-rock advantage in the 10th and final end, though, and delivered an easy draw to win it. The Americans fell to 4-4 but could still qualify for the semifinals with five wins if they beat Japan Wednesday night and get some help.

NASCAR
McDowell Shows Why He’s Defending Champ
Michael McDowell has opened the first Daytona 500 practice session with a top speed of 192.736 mph, the first time NASCAR showed off its new car at the track ahead of Sunday’s sold-out race. McDowell was last season’s stunning winner who beat 100-1 odds to become Daytona 500 champion. He helped Ford sweep the top five spots Tuesday in a draft-heavy session at Daytona International Speedway. The stakes are raised Wednesday night for qualifying.
